Mr. Robin Lest - Bangkok to Angkor Wat and Back

Professional and Knowledgeable Of note.

We did a 3 day/2 night tour with transportation from Bangkok to Siam Reap and back. Everyone that we worked with from the drives to our boarder crossing liaison to our Angkor guide were incredibly professional, welcoming and polite. Our guide Kim was very detail oriented and provided lots of information about the different temples and Cambodia itself. Additionally, he worked with us on schedules and really knew the best ways to explore each site and the perfect photo locations to remember our trip. The itinerary was very well designed such that we saw a couple temples the first day after a early morning and one day of traveling. The second day highlighted the grandeur and immensity of the Angkor Wat and all the other sites with refreshments and good local food to top it off. The final day we enjoyed more of a cultural experience of the floating village and the handcraft school before heading back to Bangkok. This was an amazing experience highlighted by prompt communication and the perfect experience.

Meticulously Planned Private Trip from Bangkok to Siem Reap (Angkor Wat)! Highly Recommend!

I was heading to Thailand with friends and had a couple extra days at the end of the trip where I would be alone and wanted to take a 'day trip' (from Bangkok) to somewhere I hadn't seen. I decided upon travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia to visit the Angkor Wat temple complex! I wanted to go by car/bus and finding a group tour at the time I was there proved difficult. So, I looked up tour companies that might do private guided tours and found Sophoan Rath and his company. From the start, Sophoan was extremely responsive and put together a 2 day, 1 night trip to meet my needs. I asked about safety as a single female traveler and Sophoan assured me the trip was safe and that I would be assisted each and every step of the way. This turned out to be exceptional!

The assistance was like a perfectly synchronized relay: from Bangkok hotel pick-up, to hand off to another guide at the border who walked me through visa obtainment and border crossing, to handover to the next driver who took me from border to Siem Reap hotel, where Sophoan came to say 'hi' and tell me of pick-up time the next day.

This was all replicated in reverse on my way back to Bangkok!! Then, the Angkor Wat tour (from sunrise through afternoon) was exceptional and Sophoan, an accredited Cambodian Tourism Guide, had great knowledge of the history. It is an experience I will always remember. If you do this tour, I recommend sturdy walking sandles and be prepard for the heat! I highly recommend using Sophoan Rath and his tour company when exploring Cambodia--for this type of tours or others.

Bangkok to Angkor Wat and Back 4d3n Private Tour!

We enjoyed an excellent service during our trip. Kind and intelligent guide was accompanying us all the time providing valuable information about the history of Angkor Vat.

Cambodia one day tour!

I think it’s the only company that offers this service . In fact it was excellent . Very punctual , well organized although it envolved many people ( a driver in Bangkok , the guy who helped with the visa in Poipet , the driver in Cambodia and the guide , who was excellent) . Perhaps it could be necessary to improve the quality of the hotel where we stayed in Poipet , but I understand that this need of spending a night in Cambodia is something recent , and it could heighten the price of the tour significantly. We enjoyed a lot to have had the possibility of visiting Angkor wat even when we had just a few days to do it. It was perfect!

Tour Guide Extraordinaire!

We visited Siem Reap in November. If you want to spend hours and hours reviewing competitor reviews - you can waste the time like I did! I spent hours and hours prior to our visit reading through various tour guide/service reviews on Trip Advisor. After reading numerous competitor reviews I decided that I would be booking our tours through Sophoan Rath - this choice was decided through reading the countless excellent reviews on Sophoan on trip advisor and also being aware this company is a nationally accredited service. Having never travelled to Cambodia I wanted a tour service that was helpful, knowledgeable, safe and reliable. We are so pleased that we booked our tours through Sophoan. He provided everything that we wanted and more! Sophoan was prompt with answering all my questions via phone and email and has excellent English skills which was helpful as we spoke no Khmer. There is no words to explain the excellence in customer service we received from Sophoan, he started as being our tour guide and ended as a friend. Sophoan arrived at our motel early in a comfortable late model SUV, air conditioning (which is a must!) and a lovely driver. We found Sophoan to be extremely knowledgeable about the history of this beautiful country and is willing to share his own experiences and knowledge with you.

Sophoan went above and beyond!! He helped us with organising our trip, was always assisting with opening and closing doors, providing bottles of cold water to even checking if the ladies toilet was ok to use and providing toilet paper if necessary - these are all small things however in a foreign country he made us feel so comfortable and safe. We toured the local temples, had an all day tour to Preah Vihear (which I highly recommend) and a tour of the floating village. Sophoan knew we were very interested in learning more about the Khmer culture and even arranged for us to visit a local school as we had bought with us pencils and stickers as gifts to the school. We cannot speak highly enough of Sophoan and we are so grateful for all his help and for allowing us to experience and visit his beautiful country. Sophoan made us feel like family and we have already booked another trip back to Camobodia in 2018 and we can't wait to catch up with our dear friend. Thank you for everything Sophoan xx
