Perfect holiday for my family!
We had an enjoyable time during Siem Reap temple complex tour with Mr. Sophoan Rath on day 1 and part of day 2 and his teammate for part of day 2. Mr. Sophoan was very kind and patient, in addition to being knowledgeable about the Angkor complex. He had paid attention to detail on every aspect of our entire trip from Bangkok to Siem Reap and back to Bangkok the next day.
It was the best 24 hours spent during our vacation. We got to see the sunset and sunrise. My kids(8 and 5) enjoyed climbing steep steps at Angkor Wat, Bayon temple and other libraries and the overgrown trees at Ta Phrom.

Highly Recommended! If you are looking for a great official tour guide that will help you organise your entire trip to Cambodia, or simply require an honest, friendly and knowledgeable guide who will tell you everything you want to know about Angkor Wat and will look after you like royalty - I would have no hesitation in recommending Sophoan as he made Cambodia the highlight of our SE Asia holiday.
After sending emails to many of the companies on Trip Advisor that offered tours and transfer services to Siem Reap from Bangkok; Cambodia Travel Trails/Angkor Wat Services was the only company that always responded to my many questions promptly. Their swift response and flexibility of travel arrangements gave me great confidence to commit to booking our tour of Angkor Wat together with transfer services from Bangkok to Siem Reap and then from Siem Reap to Koh Chang.
As planned, we were picked up from our Bangkok hotel at 5.00am and driven to the border where we were escorted across by members of their team. We experienced no delays, scams or having to pay any ‘extra’ fees as we had read so much about at this land border. By 11.30am we were at our hotel in Siem Reap. The following morning we were met a 5.00am by our tour guide Sophoan Rath.
Sophoan Rath runs both Cambodia Travel Trails and Angkor Wat Services and was the perfect guide. He was polite, honest, friendly and had in-depth knowledge of the Angkor Wat complex and always making sure that we were comfortable (he kept a boot full of chilled drinking water). We had a full day tour planned from sunrise to sunset and by the end of it felt as though we had seen more amazing sights in that day than in our entire holiday.
Our transfer from Siem Reap to Koh Chang was equally as smooth as the Bangkok transfer, sailing through the border with no hold ups.
If you want to experience Angkor Wat but are somewhat daunted by the dubious border crossing, I would highly recommend the services of Sophoan via either of his companies. Again, if you are just looking for a great official tour guide that will tell you everything you need to know about Angkor Wat or the recent history of I would have no hesitation in recommending Sophoan.

If Cambodia is on your list of future travels you will do yourself a big favor to contact Sophoan Rath (Poan) before you go. Let him help you plan an awesome & authentic trip to Cambodia. During our first visit to Siem Reap and Angkor in spring 2009, we were assigned Mr. Sophoan Rath, or Poan for short, as our individual tour guide. At that time we were quickly convinced of his qualities as our guide through the complicated history of the Khmer empires and through the extensive temple complexes of Angkor, which he brought us close to us in a lively and knowledgeable way. We also liked his humane character, his unobtrusive but always committed way of looking after us as the "protégés" entrusted to him. So there was no question who would be our "guide" on our second visit to Cambodia in 2010. Poan picked us up from the airport in Phnom Penh and showed us this city in all its facets - before we set off overland with him as our "guide and driver" to Siem Reap. The days that followed were filled with numerous new discoveries and experiences - mostly away from the main streams of tourists. This was followed by multi-day tours by SUV, well organized and guided by Poan - in 2011 to Kampot and Kep, - in 2012 to Koh Kong and the Kardamom Mountains and finally - in 2013 to Mondulkiri and Sen Monorem. We saw many beautiful landscapes, met numerous lovely people and of course also tried the local cuisine including "fried spiders". But also the dark side of the country, its horrific recent history and of course the problems of the present did not remain hidden from us. I am a Brazilian I work in Singapore and I spent three great days in Siem Reap with Mr Sophoan Rath, my guide. He showed me most or the main temples and he shared with me many histories and details about the places we visited. His English is very clear. The service was above what I expected.
