Long but great day trip!
We booked a day trip from Bangkok to Cambodia with Cambodia Travel Trails. They had great communication during the booking process. The driver showed up at our hotel at 3am like we were told. The van ride to the Cambodia border was long but comfortable. There was just the two of us in the van so we were able to sleep each on own bench.
We arrived at the border where we met with the gentleman walking is over and getting out Visa for the day. He had a car waiting for us as we crossed while he waited in line for our visa to be processed. 15 minutes later we were on our way to Angkor Wat.
Our tour guide for the day was Sophoan. He did a fabulous job of teaching us the history of the area. He was a wonderful guide.
This was a wonderful opportunity and I am so glad we spent the day touring Angkor wat. This service made everything so simple!

Day trip from Bangkok to Angkor Wat
I was visiting Thailand and had two days in Bangkok. I thought it would be impossible to make it all the way to Angkor Wat and back again in one day but Sophoan made it possible and effortless. I have to admit that the itinerary for the day looked somewhat complicated with different drivers and transfers but it turned out to be super easy and comfortable. I received very clear instructions prior to arrival which was helpful. The day of the tour everyone was so nice and welcoming and made the special trip that this was even more special. I would highly recommend Rath Sophoan if you are looking for a well planned, incredible tour. We could never thank him enough for a perfect and memorable day. Debra Cramer

Incredibly helpful and personable!
Sophoan was amazing! My friend and I were in charge of getting 55 people to cross the Cambodia border to Thailand which is a long border crossing. He was immediately personable and he was so knowledgeable about the details about how to fill out the deportation cards, etc. He brought a lot of clarity to something that could be quite confusing. He also was so hard working. When our group split up since some were ready to cross sooner, he would help my group and then run back to help the group behind. He was an incredible blessing and he made our border crossing so much easier and fun. Even though we only spent about 2 and half hours with him, he almost felt like family.

Three-time guests of Mr Sophoan Rath for another excellent multi-day Angkor tour
As previous guests of the lovely Mr Sophoan on earlier visits & tours to Siem Reap and beyond (in 2013 & 2015), we had no hesitation in contacting him to arrange for a multi-day itinerary taking in the "main" Siem Reap Temples for the Angkor first-timers, in addition to visits to Kbal Spean (waterfall nature walk), and the temples at Roluos and stilted village outside Siem Reap.
As with all our tours, the days were very well-arranged and pleasant, and despite very hot and/or very wet conditions, Mr Sophoan remained very invested, informative, and considerate of the group's (family of 4) preferences, interests, comfort, and questions.
As we have now had the pleasure of spending around one full week of touring with Mr Sophoan since having the fortune of meeting him (via friend's recommendation) in 2013, we would further fully recommend his services for touring in Cambodia.

Mr. Gregory Wilhelms - Bangkok to Angkor Wat and Back
We were on a 15 day tour of Thailand and could not find an itinerary that included River Kwai with Angkor Wat. After some careful research we found Cambodia Travel Trails, and Mr. Sophoan Rath. By taking a day out of our Bangkok itinerary we were able to see one of the great wonders of the world. From the very first inquiry from home to the end it was a seamless experience. The communication, any extra questions were answered within a day, The itinerary documents, how to get Visa's, Even the suggestion by the pickup driver to leave an extra half hour early from our hotel worked out perfectly. Our professional certified guide at Angkor was Usaphun Karnkanok and he was absolutely superb, great knowledge, worked at our pace, we had a wonderful breakfast and lunch of local fare, were able to see all the stated itinerary without feeling rushed. After the tour we asked Usa if he could take us shopping at a few local places and the answer was SHURE let's go! Without a doubt, one of the most memorable experiences of our worldwide touring. The best guide, the best price, an amazing experience!
It is difficult to make a decision about an activity thousands of miles away with a group or person you don't know. I looked around a lot and contacted a few companies. Most charged $170 per person for the day. This group charged FAR less and was absolutely flawless.
We arrived the evening before and Sophoan met us at the airport. He has excellent English and a wonderful personality. He is calm, thoughtful, and concerned that you are getting exactly the experience you are hoping to get. We only had one day, so the next day we left before sunrise and went through the main temples. Sophoan was an informative and knowledgable guide and knew all about the different architecture, art, etc. He also knew exactly where to take great pictures and took amazing ones of my daughter and me together. That was a real bonus.
It is super hot at Angkor Wat and my daughter ran out of steam after lunch. Sophoan then took us around Siem Reap, to a fruit market, to see fruit bats near the city palace, and even a place to get a cool treat (Fresh Fruit Factory--go there too!). He then met us at our hotel when it was time to travel to the airport. All of this personalized attention at a fraction of the other tour companies. Simply put, if you can book Sophoan there is no competition. Do it!
