Day I - Angkor Wat Sunrise, Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom City, Bayon, Ta Prohm, Small Circuit, Phnom Bakheng Hill Sunset or Pre Rup Temple Sunset
Angkor Wat Sunrise - pick up at 5am for viewing the picturesque sunrise at Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat - after sunrise, explore the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, built by Suryavarman II in early 12th century. Angkor Wat is constructed following the model of the temple mountain symbolizing the mount Merou, home of the gods, considered as the masterpiece of the Khmer architecture. This Vishnuite temple is the King’s funerary temple that is why the temple is oriented to the west. Inside the temple the walls are covered by carvings and bas-reliefs depicting the Hindu mythology and the wars Suryavarman II made during his reign. As well Angkor Wat is well known for the 1800 Apsara dancers decorating the all temple. But like most say, it takes a life time to discover all the wonders of this temple.
Return to hotel for breakdast
Angkor Thom city complex - after breakfast, continue transfer onward to visit the Great City of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. This city is surrounded by an 8m high wall; each side of the city is 3 kilometers long. It draws a perfect square you access this town through 5 gates, 4 of them represent the cardinal points and the 5th one the Victory Gate was the one leading directly to the Royal Palace area.
You will arrive via the South Gate, an impressive stone gate carved with Elephants and 4 giant faces. On each side is a row of 54 gods or demons holding the sacred Naga snake.
After passing through the South Gate, you will go down along this shady road to the Bayon temple. This temple lies exactly in the center of the city. The particularity of this monument is the 54 towers representing the 54 provinces of the then Great Khmer Empire. Each tower has 4 faces. This is the only temple in Cambodia depicting scenes of the everyday life at the time of the empire.
From the Bayon continue by walk to the Baphoun recently re-opened to the public. There you will pass by the Phimeanakas the location of the Royal Palace. The only remaining are a pond and a temple. The palace was made of wood and did not survive the time and the wars.
Then continue to the Terrace of the Elephants. This Terrace was the place where the parade was done for the king. Next is the Terrace of the Leper King, depicting the water world.
Ta Prohm overgrown temple – continues transfer to Ta Prohm - one of the most popular temples of the Angkor Complex. This temple was built in the memory of the King Jayavarman VII’s mother. When found by the French conservators at the end of the 19th century, they deliberately left this temple in the same condition as it was discovered, overgrown by strangler fig and silk-cotton trees, giving the temple a mystical and romantic appeal.
Lunch at local restaurant (at your own costs)
Your visit will include Banteay Kdei, a Buddhist monastery from the late 12th century, Srah Srang, also known as the “pool of ablutions”, the identical twin temples of Tommanon and Chaosay Tevoda,Ta Keo and Krovan temple.
Return to Siem Reap after watching sunset at Phnom Bakheng Hill. Dominating the flat landscape, this 10th Century mountain temple is the most popular spot in the area to watch a classic sunset over Angkor Wat and the surrounding forest or
Watching sunset at Pre Rup temple, a Hindu temple, built as the state temple of king Rajendravarman and dedicated in 961. It is a temple mountain of combined brick, laterite and sandstone construction. The temple’s name is a comparatively modern one meaning "turn the body". This reflects the common belief among Cambodians that funerals were conducted at the temple, with the ashes of the body being ritually rotated in different directions as the service progressed.
During the night of your stay in Siem Reap, you can enjoy Siem Reap nightlife, night markets, foods and other fun activities in Siem Reap downtown, Pub Street areas and city formerly French colonial head quarter.
Return and drop off at your preferred destination.

Great tour!!
The temperature was 90° and humidity was 98°. Keep, the driver, met us at the other side of each temple with cold water and air-conditioning which was a godsend. Kim was so fun and friendly, and we very much enjoyed this tour. Angkor Wat from sunrise to sunset was unforgettable.
We had a superb day trip from sunrise to sunset. Our guide's was Mr Chhay Sokhuoch. He was an excellent guide, interesting, pleasant and very knowledgeable. We spent the day visiting several sites in the area and he gave us some very good recommendations for our second day. We are very satisfied and would certainly recommended doing your trip to the temples with him.
Poan organized the most perfect tour of the temples. He lead us through a variety of sights and his depth of knowledge was phenomenal. He was able to explain general history of the people and structures as well as go into great detail of anything we wanted to know more about. A gentle, kind, brilliant guide. I would highly recommend Poan to anyone wanting to see and learn about this area.
We were able to get a last minute one day tour with initerary modifications since I really wanted to see Beng Mealea. I would definitely recommend seeing it, it's very different from the other temples. Our tour guide Kim was great, he knew all the perfect spots for pictures to avoid crowds. Wish we had more time to do their three day tour.
After a lengthy online chat with Mr. Rath I confirmed the day trip - and it was worth it! The guide assigned was Mr. Sim, who was knowledgable (written his own book on Angkor Wat) and a nice chap. Slight hiccup at the start as there was confusion over which hotel we were in (hotel had several properties with similar names), but a call to Mr. Rath at 05:00 set that straight! If you are able to, it's worth doing the early start for the sunrise at Angkor Wat. You don't have to be right at the front of the lake, in fact if you're on the left hand side you get all pillars in your photos and the whole lake too. Sunrise may feel like it's disappeared even though it's bright and blue sky... Just wait, it pops up in spectacular fashion quite suddenly.
We took a packed breakfast from hotel which saved time and keeps you moving rather than going back and forth. By starting early, you also beat some of the rush at other temples.
Cold water is provided in the car, but do ensure you've taken some too.
It rained for a short while but umbrella's were provided (if I did it again I'd take my own smaller one as it's easier to put away in a bag). I'd advise shoes with good grip and ones that are easy to walk in. I just wore normal ballet pumps with a rubber grip and it was fine. No need for hiking boots unless that's what you feel most comfortable in. Ladies - avoid skirts and dresses unless they're long/flowy as there's lots of climbing up steep steps and not everyone likes a free show as they're trying to balance up a wooden ladder. Take a hat even if it's cloudy. If you can get cooking spray like Magicool then get that too.
Please please be respectful of the dress code. You're visiting temples, not an amusement park. The monks and local staff are too humble to tell you that tiny shorts and strappy tops do upset them. You're also not doing your own country/race proud.. We got talking to some of the local people that work in the temples and grounds, and it was sad that the same old list of tourists were being mentioned as being ignorant. Get your tan elsewhere people....
Lunch was in a road side restaurant (there's a whole line of them by a lake), which was good. Not as cheap as I'd thought it would be but they've a captive audience so can keep city prices I suppose. The food was worth it.
We didn't go to Angkor Artisans at the end of the tour as we were shattered (Mr. Sim was fine!), and it was only a five min walk from our hotel so we went for a stroll there ourselves another day.
It's a full day but worth going. These magnificent temples have withstood so much, the history of the country and religious fluidity has shaped current norms and lives... We learnt all this on the day. Thank you Mr. Sim.
A great tour. We did a two day tour of Cambodia temples. Guide was informative and friendly. He was also a very safe driver and stopped at restaurants when we requested it. Thanks for a great few days.
